Abstract
The paper deals with the issue of mining heritage on the example of the town Jáchymov and its surroundings. The mining history is still present in the area.
Not only of the times of prosperity connected with silver mining during the Middle Ages, but also of the period of totalitalitarian regimes. In the 1950s and 1960s many labor camps were founded in the area in which uranium was mined by political prisoners to fulfill the needs of the Soviet Union.
