Abstract

Bronchogenic duplication arises during embryogenesis from an abnormal budding of the ventral diverticulum of the foregut ort he tracheobronchial tree. In this case report, we present a 50-year-old woman with an esophageal-intramural, bronchogenic cyst who showed symptoms of dysphagia progression.

The final diagnosis of the cyst was unclear until definitive histology findings were obtained. After esophageal resection was performed, the postoperative course was uneventful.
