An Analysis of Fertility Trends in the Czech Republic from 1950 to the Present Using Decomposition Methods

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2016

Abstract

This paper seeks to trace fertility trends in the Czech Republic from 1950 to 2013 using decomposition methods. These methods provide deeper insight into changes in fertility.

The results show that the reasons for the differences in fertility rates between selected years lie in the intensity of fertility and in the age structure. The paper also explores changes in fertility rates in relation to differences in marital status structure and differences in birth order and in the timing of reproduction.
