Prediction of preeclampsia and other pathologies in the first gestational trimester

Publication

Abstract

Currently, there is no doubt that a prerequisite for the development of preeclampsia (PE) is the presence of trophoblast cells in the maternal circulation. It demonstrates the crucial role of immune mechanisms in the pathophysiological chain of PE.

Based on these findings, it is necessary to find out the immunological markers that would improve the first trimester diagnosis. We selected serum IgG and IgM autoantibodies to cardiolipin (ACLA-G, resp.

ACLA-M) and interleukins (IL) 6, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 23, all measured by ELISA in the first trimester.
