Abstract
The article considers professional motivation in students of general medicine. An analysis of open-ended questions leads us to conclude that so far, the main motivation of the medicine students is to help others.
However, the self-oriented motivation has also been found and in future can grow. Future professional identity is likely to change from altruistic attitudes to more self-oriented.
