Psychosocial risk factors are together with environmental and genetic factors engaged in etiopathogenesis of schizophrenia. In this paper, the results of the project Epidemiology and Genetics of Schizophrenia are presented.
Factors like a lower education, unemployment, family status, number of children, problems with close persons, death of the closest person, home violence, physical or emotional deprivation, bullying and complication in the mother's pregnancy have been statistically more pronounced in the patients with schizophrenia in comparison with control subjects
