The contribution introduces the portal that makes accessible digitized maps and atlases created within the TEMAP project from the programme NAKI of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. It describes the creation of metadata catalogue open source Geonetwork.
It shows possibilities of data update and of the work with the system. Significant are the options for geographical and professional search from metadata fields of the subject and geographical description, from the fields for authors and title, but also from other data. 65,000 maps and pages of atlases are made accessible in high quality format and resolution, they are loaded fast and watermarks do not disturb the image.
It is possible to continue working with them, save them, view them in detailed metadata in the catalogue of the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science, Charles University or to georeference them further. Statistics give evidence of rising attendance and use of the product.
The development of metadata catalogue is possible in the area of voluminous maps and the making accessible 3D projects.
