Abstract

Suspension of trading with an investment instrument or removal of an investment instrument from trading are measures, that may be used in relation to investment instruments admitted to trading on a regulated market in cases, when the need of temporary or permanent restriction of trading occurs. Reflecting the fundamental impact of these measures on the issuer, investors and the market itself, it is necessary to stipulate legal conditions for the possibility of their uses in a way that enables effective use in reasonable cases.

Current rules effective in the member states of the European Union were laid down by the directive MiFID. On the other hand, the new directive MiFID II contains many changes.

The main aim of these changes is to make the uses of above-mentioned measures within the European Union more effective.
