Abstract

Measurements of blood pressure (BP) in the surgery can be affected by many factors and therefore its standardization is very important. Although the rules for the correct measurement is basically simple, not propagated observed. 1.

Measurement should take place in a quiet room at a comfortable temperature, the patient does not have to be stripped to his underwear or bot- to the waist, because he may be uncomfortable for psychological reasons or because of the cold. The patient sits casually leaning back in his chair and rests his arms on the mat.

When measuring cuff should be at the level of the heart. It is therefore not acceptable to be elevated in the arm (for example, sitting on a low chair at the high table), or contrary to the arm cuff low (sick bent at the loca tion tonometer on a low table).

These principles apply generally for home blood pressure monitoring.
