Extended Role of Health Professionals in the Czech Republic and Selected European Countries European Countries

Abstract

The authors present a basic survey concerning a development of tradional as well as new health professions with regards to demographic changes and possibilities of modern therapeutic approaches, and financial demands of health care in Europe. Some European countries respond by systemic changes including extension of roles of traditional health professions or development of new health professions.

Authors present partial results of European project MUNROS with regards to contribution of new health professions in delivering health care in 9 European countries (including the Czech republic) to patients suffering with breast cancer, acute myocardial infaction and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Project ""Health Care Reform: The iMpact on practice, oUtcomes and cost of New ROles for health profeSsionals"" (MUNROS) is funded by the European Commission, under the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7 HEALTH-2012-INNOVATION-1) grant agreement number HEALTH-F3-2012- 305467EC.
