Is the absolute I in ' Foundation of the Entire Wissenschaftslehre' self-conscious?

Abstract

The article deals with a question whether the absolute I is self-conscious. The first part of my text introduces arguments which led me to a view that there is no self-consciousness - no form of self-relation - appertaining to the absolute I.

The second part offers a description of the finite I so that I can properly introduce the relation between both the finite I and the absolute I as well as clarify why Fichte calls the absolute I "absolute" despite the lack of its self-consciousness.
