A monograph devoted to exploration of the problem of value pluralism as a key challenge to the project of global ethics, a new sub-discipline of moral and political philosophy aimed at providing intellectual tools to the analysis and resolution of domestic inter-group as well as transnational conflicts rising from diverse phenomena of cultural, religious and value pluralism. The author proposes an innovative meta-ethical theory of global solidarity defending a thesis that solidarity - rather than justice - may provide a philosophical bridge between diverse ethical traditions which underlie diverse political traditions.

The book focuses on the Western, the East Asian (Confucian) and Islamic ethical traditions as underlying political ideologies of the three regions of the world that are likely to feature most prominently in the 21st C global politics as its leading actors, and thus its main trouble-makers and problem-solvers.
