Abstract

In this paper, the way of Bruno in the movie L'Enfant by the Dardenne brothers (2005), which goes from the engagement in the responsability of existence to the disengagement of the infinite time of non-biological paternity, is presented in the Levinasian vein. For Bruno, the question is not one of complacency in originary guilt of somebody, who, in the thrownness, is never able to choose the possibilities that he has sacrifices in the given moment, but to be - in fecundity - someone else while being himself in the pluralised time situated outside of the possible.
