Somali Lessons for the Middle East: NATO Operations Against the Islamic State

Abstract

Presentation debated the possible analogies of de-territorialization of Al-Shabaab and the Islamic State (or Daesh). The aim of the comparison was to present some possible lessons to be learned from the process and the ways the NATO countries may mitigate the most serious impacts of this process.
