Abstract

Obesity is a serious chronic metabolic disease and additionally a risk factor promoting the progression of a broad range of other diseases. In view of its high prevalence in contemporary population, it has become a serious public health concern, particularly its occurrence among children.

Systematic improvement of health awareness of the population through educational community events such as Health Days, in combination with individual interventions, represents one of the ways to decrease the prevalence of this serious disease among the population and to improve the general state of public health.
