Ethiopia: people, geology and erosion

Abstract

The study of the geomorphology of the Faculty of Science us last fall introduced to Ethiopia - the cradle of humanity. A country where 80% of the surface consists of a high-lying plateau, which is dominated by the highest peak Ras Dashen (4533 m n.

M.). A land whose geological form shaped encroachment by the sea, uplift area, volcanic activity and the development of so-called riftového system.

In Ethiopia, we examined tectonics (ie mainly fractures and other disorders in the crust) and its links to soil erosion and landslides.
