Advancing Protection and Fostering Belonging in a Global Era of the Criminalization of Migration

Abstract

The eighth annual conference of the Canadian Association for the study of refugees and forced migration with the theme "Advancing Protection and Fostering Belonging in a Global Era of the Criminalization of Migration" was held from 13th to 15th May 2015 in Toronto (Ontario, Canada). This conference is held every year, but each time in different Canadian province: it was held last year in Montreal (Quebec), and next year the conference will be held in Winnipeg (Manitoba).

In the autumn last year, 180 papers in 40 panels were chosen for presentation. The conference was finally attended by 500 participants from 25 countries, including Canada and the US, as well as many others countries in the world like the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, South Africa, Nepal or India.
