Abstrakt
Both national and European science systems witness the rise of excellence policies, with funding instruments offering selective support for high-performing research groups or research organizations. The workshop brought together scholars working on excellence policies, and had three primary academic aims: 1) develop a theoretical understanding of excellence policies in science, 2) analyze the effects of excellence policies on scientific practices, 3) compare policies and their effects on scientific practices across national science systems.
