Primary gastrointestinal lymphomas (PGIL) represent main group of extranodal lymphomas, however, constituting only about 1-4% of all gastrointestinal malignancies. The most frequent sites of occurrence are the stomach followed by small intestine and large intestine, especially ileocecal region and rectum.
In the case report we present an 84-year-old woman who suffered from nonspecific digestive problems. Medical examination revealed a tumorous infiltration of the small intestine.
The patient underwent a surgical resection of the affected segment of the small intestine and a subsequent histological examination determined diagnosis of PGIL.
