Abstract
There is an implicit relationship between the European history of ideas and the phenomenon of the guest: the guest functions here as a momentum movens that moves the factual history of thinking in its decisive steps. The article characterizes this development; for the purpose to unveil the intertwining of hospitality and thinking it refers to the supper analyzing it in the context of Platon's Symposion, the Last Supper and the "Supper" in the 4th part of Nietzsche's Zarathustra.
