Abstract

Aim of the work is to assess the ability of contrast enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in order to evaluate the effect of local treatment of liver tumors by percutaneous radiofrequency ablation(RFA). We compared results of control monitoring CEUS and CT after radiofrequency ablation.

We demonstrated 80% sensitivity and 100% specificity CEUS for detecting nonablation of liver tumors after radiofrequency ablation. In our cohort, the sensitivity of CEUS is higher than the sensitivity of CT, this result can be affected by a small number of tumor residues.
