The Waldstein Coat of Arms as a Demonstration of the Family Representation in the 17th and 18th Centuries

Abstract
The article concerns the appearance and usage of the Waldstein coat of arms from the early Middle Ages until the 18th century when its developement was de facto completed. It concentrates on the chronological alteration of figures and their mutual positions as well as their significance and circumstances under which they were included in the coat of arms.
The next part of the text concerns the significance of the coat of arms in the milieu of the Waldstein residence towns, family seats and in the centre of public space, where it was under attact from representations of competitive noble families.
