Abstract
In this paper a classification of various phraseological units present in Cuban Spanish is attempted by following a variational approach. For their analysis we have relied on the theoretical principles set by Gloria Corpas Pastor in her Manual of Spanish Phraseology, and on María Belén Ortega Alvarado's doctoral thesis Routine Formulas in Contemporary Spanish.
