Abstract
Benign prostatic hyperplasia is the most common benign disease in men, the prevalence and incidence of which increases with age. It is characterized by enlargement of the prostate.
The consequences of the enlarged prostate may significantly affect the patient's quality of life. Recently, BHP has been clinically classified under a wider group of diagnoses called LUTS (Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms).
The treatment of LUTS follows recommended procedures of the European Association of Urology. In recent years, the treatment of this disease is marked by a considerable development from merely examining the case through pharmacotherapy to surgical options.
