Abstract

This book offers a multi-faceted perspective on the world of Euro-American literature at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries (Symbolism, Vitalism, Decadence, fin-de-siècle, Generation 98), and explores not only national differences but also those trends that were common to the whole cultural region. The book concludes with an overview of literary trends in particular regions and examples from the programme texts from each movement.
