Abstract
A part of the collective monograph which summarises methodological approaches to the project of the Modern Czech Grammar meant for students in Philology programs. The chapter presents the respective topic in phonetic and phonology field on both segmental and prosodic levels.
It follows material and structural properties of speech in their interrelation and the applicative aspects in speech communication as well.
