Abstract
The article discusses the issue of legal regulation of amnesties of President of the Republic in the years 1918 - 1938, concerning political offenses, respectively. crimes committed because of political motives. Legislation followed the period of the Habsburg monarchy.17 of 13 amnestis can be subsumed under this set.
The main objective was to maintain social coherence in state.
