Icy moons of the giant planets: a geophysical perspective

Abstract

In this paper, we focus on icy moons and their definition. We describe the available data and we introduce basic geophysical methods used for their interpretation.

Especially, we pay attention to two different moons of Saturn: active Enceladus with spectacular geysering activity and inactive Iapetus with an old surface.
