Abstract

Article based on the knowledge gained from the restoration of the statue of Neptune by Bohuslav Schnirch, which is part of Neptune's grotto at Havlíčkovy sady in Prague, gives a detailed interpretation of the works and artistic influences behind him, mainly deals with the question of what this statue says about the artistic profile Bohuslav Schnirch. Distinct Baroque inspirations from which Schnirch in this case draws, that suggests that this important personage of the czech sculpture of the 19th century had a richer artistic index than is commonly used in the literature is said.
