Abstrakt
The paper will focuses on the role of teasing and prompting in language socialization of Romani children in two extended families. While the first family lives in rural settlement of Eastern Slovakia and Romani serves as a primary language of socialization here, the second family recently moved to the Czech capital, living in an ethnically mixed neigbourhood and uses predominantly Czech in child-directed speech, while Romani remains the main language of interaction within adult groups.
