Abstract

Descendants of Czech co-ethnic living in the former Volhynian governorate are well structural, socially and culturally embedded into Ukrainian society. Indeed, many of them inclined to Ukrainian ethnicity.

In spite of this, they act in compatriotic societies in West Ukraine - on commemoration affairs or during other compatriotic activities like compatriotic festival etc. - and they adopt Czech culture. This depends not only on interest, which is impacted by generation of their parents and grandparents and compatriotic society, but also on view of Czech Republic as a highly developed and attractive "western" country.

It is positive feeling towards the Czech Republic and Czech ancestors which figure out migration of descendants of Czech co-ethnics to the Czech Republic. They could even more easily overcome restrictive immigration policy of the Czech Republic thanks to their Czech ancestors.

Due to Czech state policy, they can migrate and obtain permanent residence relatively easily.
