Abstract
This contribution deals with partial results of a research project aimed at monitoring the level of visual memory, and the associated visual attention of children and pupils with hearing impairment in the age group of 6-8 years. There were selected four subtests focused on the current state of visual memory and attention, which are part of two standardized tests, for the possibility of comparison with a group of hearing children and pupils of the same age range.
Subsequent analysis of the data was used to verify the hypothesis about the influence of compensation mechanism in the processing of visual perception for people with hearing disabilities at level of CNS. The data analysis should verify whether a group of children and pupils with hearing impairment will have better results of the visual memory and attention in a comparison with a group of hearing peers.
