Abstract

The submitted contribution focuses on the metamorphoses of the concept of life quality among adult hearing impaired people in the Czech Republic in the last decades. It is based on dissertation thesis research which follows the current level of life quality among this heterogeneous group of people.

The featured contribution deals primarily with component targets, which directly relate to life quality - that is employment opportunity and social inclusion of this group of people. The cited areas fall into - in the current theory - the objective level of the total dimension of life quality.

The text mentions the possibilities of prepairing for occupation, work opportunities and socialization of the hearing im paired in the context of past decades and the present. Current research data is derived from the above-mentioned research supported by a grant from Charles University.
