Abstrakt
The book treats, in the spirit of Wittgenstein's analysis of language games and family resemblances, the role of numbers in general reflections on the constitution of mathematical objects and well-defined truths. The development of real and transfinite numbers functions as a paradigm for the transformation of an indefinite negation of finiteness into rigorous notions of mathematical infinities.
