Methods of Cooperative Education to Support Education of Czech Language at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague

Abstract
This paper introduces two innovative methods featuring various elements of cooperative teaching and learning (education) - Language Tandem and Coeducation (Collaborative Learning) of students at the 1st Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague who learn either Czech or English as foreign language. Cooperative education has been used in an effort to support education of Czech language in the English parallel group and vice versa.
Both of the above mentioned methods complement the standard language tuition at the 1st Faculty of Medicine. Although they have common features, they differ in practical realisation and also place different demands on the role of the teacher.
