Abstract
The article deals with the historical development of the synagogue service since the ancient times till the modern history. It depicts the most important historical periods, such as the biblical times, the creation of the First Temple in Jerusalem, the creation of the synagogue, the Second Temple in Jerusalem, the development of the synagogue service in the Middle Ages and modern times.
