Abstract
Joseph Soloveitchik has outlined an ideal type of the halakhic man, representing a synthesis of religious and scientific approach to the world. Himself, as a halakhic man, agreed with the engagement of Jewish Orthodoxy in the process of technological and social development of Western society, strongly opposing, however, any negation of existential uniqueness of Judaism, and any attempts of religious fusion of Judaism and Christianity.
