Abstract

The course content in the education system is being long-term established by a didactic transformation of scientific knowledge into a form that is acceptable for students. This course content is of course in the first place determined by the learning objectives, and last but not least, it is also given by schools material equipment, their technical background.

This fact stands out, if we narrow our focus on the physical phenomena that we demonstrate experimentally. It is obvious that some of these phenomena - even though they can be considered as very useful and interesting - can be meaningfully included in the curriculum, provided only that we have the appropriate tools and equipment for their demonstration; otherwise, trying to violently and uncontrolled integrate them into teaching can be very counterproductive.

In this paper experiments will be presented and demonstrated, that use a thermo camera and a USB microscope and that would be difficult to demonstrate without using modern technologies.
