Abstrakt
I was invited to speak about national identity as it is considered a fitting starting point to understand the reactions on the on-going migration crisis in different countries. Therefore, I will first speak about the character of the Czech national identity and it's connection to inclusion and exclusion of foreigners.
After that, I will present the latest public opinion polls on refugees in the Czech republic. They show a strong support for the restrictive policies.
At the very end of my presentation, I will focus on the interpretation of these political stances.
