Abstract
This article briefly reminds how was celebrated the 500th anniversary of the Prague University. With the help of a recently discovered historical document, it is answered to the question, what was the relationship among famous and renowned German mathematician, geometer, astronomer and surveyor Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777-1855) and the Prague University in the first half of the 19th century.
