Abstract

The article discusses the geometry in ancient Egypt. The main attention is paid to the calculations of content and volume of the elementary shapes (i.e. square, rectangle, quadrangle, triangle, trapezium, circle, respectively cube, prism, cylinder, truncated pyramid).

Egyptian methods are compared with our methods and formulas.
