The review presents briefly the publication Čeština nově od A do Z by a group of Czech linguists (Czech from A to Z in a new way, edited by M. Pravdová, Lidové noviny, Praha, Academia 2016, 148 pages).
The book represents the edition of a training course consisting from 30 lessons and published in a daily paper Lidové noviny from 6 February to 13 March 2015; it met with considerable interest from readers. Bringing all the lessons together, the book offers explanation of interesting linguistic phenomena.
The publication is intended for a wide audience, for everybody who is interested in Czech language, it can be suitably used in teaching Czech as a foreign language - and this review focuses on that. The book offers interesting details and information to motivate students and make language class more colorful when teaching Czech grammar, spelling and vocabulary or when practicing the Czech language.
Many facts and information can be discussed in conversation classes and during various tasks; at the same time they can serve presentation of many Czech phenomena (e. g., in connection with the interpretation of origin of some Czech geographical names).
