Some "Interpretive" Variants in the Greek Text of John's Gospel

Abstract

Some variant readings were probably created in order to interpret rather than improve the linguistic aspects of the text. Selection of such cases in the Fourth Gospel is examined with respect to the understanding of authority of the transmitted texts.
