This paper presents in broad outline the social development in Bohemia and Moravia during La Tène, as seen mainly in typology, the evolution of dwellings, territorial organization and numismatic data. The study of this evolution begins with the scattered settlements of L T B, then examines the setting up of the first open villages at L T C1 and of the oppida at L T C2, and finally the decline and disappearance of the Latenian culture at L T D2a.
Special attention is paid to the issue of external links, notably with the Mediterranean world, and its role in the processes concerned.
