Abstract

The article deals with main findings of the research "Theoretical and Criminal Policy Aspects of Criminal Law Reform in the Field of Criminal Sanctions."The research especially focused on the implementation of selected provisions of the new Criminal Code in the field of criminal sanctions and its impact on judicial practice and the prison population, a reflection on sanctions policy and the Criminal Code in the media, the public, on the effectiveness of specific criminal sanctions - house arrest, community service, suspended sentences with supervision, fines and short-term prison sentences, and on the issue of juvenile offenders and of preventive detention.
