Cleansing products for colonoscopy are of different composition and its choice taking in account adverse effects and patient's compliance play important role. From pathophysiological point of view, hyperosmolar cleansing products can cause easily hypervolemia.
Isoosmolar preparations are safer in comparison with hyperosmolar products, although higher volume to drink is necessary. Electrolyte composition of bowel cleansing products, primarily potassium concentration, is the important aspect in hemodialysis patients.
