Abstrakt
The paper explores English sentences with a locative subject from the syntactic, semantic and functional sentence perspective points of view. Drawing on the material from the Czech-English parallel translation corpus it demonstrates that, depending on the semantics of the verb, these sentences may be considered a type of presentative constructions.
