Abstract

International conference on esoteric and the occult influence on Italian literature at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when after the wave of great positivist belief in reason, a logical crisis of rationality started, which affected the entire way of thinking in Western society. This brought a "crave for the unknown", spiritualization of literary creation and departure from the realistic and veristic tendencies.

The topic of the conference was also the fantastic literary genre of the period, its form, themes and inspiration. At the conference participated 58 researchers from Italy, France, Spain, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Malta, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Germany, USA and South Korea.
