This paper deals with borders on title pages of military manuals, which are deposited in the Library of Military History Institute in Prague. There is short information about history of the researched library and about structure of its collections in the beginning of the paper.
It is followed by statistical analysis of the examined sample of books decorated with borders on title pages. The analysis deals with language, printer's and author's provenance of those publications and their topic.
Main part of the paper is focused on analysis of the most important iconographical motives of the borders, which are architectonical compositions, human figures (portraits of authors or dedicants of the books, mythical figures, personification of sciences and virtues or pictures of soldiers), panoplies and collections of artillery or geodetic tools.
