Speech rate revisited - the effect of task design on speech rate

Abstrakt

The presentation deals with methodological aspects of measuring speech rate in learner corpora, its variability and its affinity with the design of the speech task. The results are backed up by analyses and comparisons of a learner corpus of advanced English and a parallel corpus of native English.
